Tryst at the Phillips
Experience one of the world's premiere art collections and then take a break with us, or, head straight to the cafe without admittance to the gallery.
The Phillips Collection houses works by, among others, Degas, Cézanne, Gauguin, van Gogh, Matisse, Picasso, Klee, O'Keeffe, Calder. It is truly as its mission guides, "an exceptional collection of modern and contemporary art in a dynamic environment for collaboration, innovation, engagement with the world, scholarship, and new forms of public participation." The Phillips, like Tryst for best coffeehouse, won the Washington City Paper's 2012 reader poll for best museum.
So, sip on a cappuccino and do a little work or correspondence on your laptop in the cafe with Sandra Cinto's wonderful installation, One Day, After the Rain. Meet for friends for a quiet lunch or enjoy a glass of wine or specialty cocktail in the beautiful Hunter Courtyard.
The Phillips is in Dupont Circle at 1600 21st Street, NW | Washington, DC 20009, near 21st and Q Streets, NW.
